ABOUT DR. RAAMYA
Dr. Ashokbabu Raamya completed his dental degree at the Ragas Dental College and hospital in Chennai, India in 1994. He practised general dentistry for a period of five years before migrating to Canada. He has practised as a general dentist here in Ontario for over 15 years after successfully completing the National Dental Examining Board of Canada program in the year 2002. He continued his interest in temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) and orofacial pain at the Eastman Institute for Oral
Health at the University of Rochester, New York, where he completed the two-year post-graduate TMD/Orofacial Pain residency program. Along with this, Dr. Raamya also earned a master's degree in the health professions education at the University of Rochester, New York.
Dr. Raamya has published an article in the Ontario Dentist Journal in April 2018 based on a case report. Currently, he is working on publishing another research article about the reliability of panoramic radiographs in assessing TMDs. He is also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Indian Dental Association. His future interest is to join a dental faculty where he can educate dental students about temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain.
Along with his interest in managing TMD/orofacial pain patients, Dr. Raamya has shown interest over the past 10 years in Invisalign® treatments for correcting malocclusion, as well as dental implants.
Dr. Raamya has always been very much committed to continued education.
On a personal note, Dr. Raamya likes to spend his free time with his family and playing badminton.
